The north side of Spokane was not nice to visiting wrestling teams on Wednesday night as both Mead and Mt. Spokane won their GSL duals.
The 4-time defending district champion Panthers fell behind visiting Lewis & Clark 6-0 after Adam Bozman pinned Kevin McLean in the 1st period. But Mason Ju evened the tally by pinning Noah Buckley at 285, and the Panthers dominated from there to win 55-21. Wyatt Nemec (138) Richard Olsen (170) and Chandler Rogers (182) all had pins for Mead. Graham Hoch (132) and Andrew Backlund (195) had pins for the Tigers.
At Mt. Spokane, visiting North Central jumped ahead 11-0 before Tom Harvey pinned Junior Villaro at 220 to get the Wildcats on the board. NC responded with a pin by Herber Martinez at 285. But Mt. Spokane would eventually work past the Indians en route to a 40-25 victory. Kiegan Schauer (120) Richie Bondurant (132) Ben Lant (160) all had pins for Mt. Spokane. Izaec Quintanilla (152) added a pin for North Central.
