The Jitterz Java coffee stand at 2135 West Northwest Boulevard was robbed by an armed man Tuesday night at 6:40 p.m. It's the second robbery at a coffee stand in the last two days. KXLY4's Ian Cull reports.

SPOKANE, Wash. -

The Jitterz Java coffee stand at 2135 West Northwest Boulevard was robbed by an armed man Tuesday night at 6:40 p.m. It's the second robbery at a coffee stand in the last two days.

Spokane Police say at Jitterz Java, the man showed the clerk a handgun and demanded cash. He got away with the money on foot.

"He was wearing a dark ski mask and dark clothes. While a gun was displayed, fortunately nobody was injured," said Lt. Dean Sprague.

Police started a K-9 track of the neighborhood to the south, but had no luck.

Monday morning at 6:30, Mugshots Espresso was robbed by a man who ordered coffee, demanded cash, and also got away on foot. Police say it's too early to tell if it's the same suspect.

"I'm assuming the detectives will also be looking at that one against this one. I'm not in a position to say it's not the same person or make any other connections," Lt. Dean Sprague said.

The manager of Daily Habit Espresso in north Spokane heard the news of another armed robbery Tuesday night and shut down early.

"Just to make sure that our girls are safe, and that he wasn't coming down the line towards us," said manager Crystal Clark said.

Investigators say in each of the last two robberies the clerks did the right thing by not fighting back and being good witnesses in a terrifying situation.

"Their safety is foremost in our mind. Money can be replaced, the employees can't," Lt. Sprague said.

SPD is also investigating an armed robbery of a Jimmie John's delivery driver that happened on the 1800 block of South Riverton at 5:15 p.m. Tuesday.

Anyone who knows anything about these crimes is asked to call Crime Check at 456-2233.
