The Mt. Spokane Ski Patrol is holding their 49th Annual Ski Swap this weekend at the Fair and Expo Center, which is always a lot of fun and you can find some great bargains before the ski season starts.
The ski swap is important for the Ski Patrol to raise funds to perform their mission to keep powder hounds safe on the slopes.
"Whether its simple things like administrative paper work stuff, or the equipment we actually use when someone accidentally has an issue on the hill and we need to provide first aid, all of the equipment we use comes from this swap," Henry Siepp with the Mt. Spokane Ski Patrol said.
In nearly 50 years of putting the ski swap on, the Mt. Spokane Ski Patrol has perfected a hugely popular event.
"These guys have been doing it for a long time; it is bigger and better this year, we have got the learn to ski ramp, we have got a ton of booths and as always we have the best selection of gear around," Mt. Spokane Marketing Manager Kristin Whitaker said.
"This is the kick off for the season in the Inland Northwest, we are going to have a big season and what we are doing right now is kicking it off by having screaming deals on snowboards, skis, gloves, helmets, goggles, whatever you think you might need, we are going to have it right here at Mt. Spokane Ski Swap," Siepp said.
If you've never been to the ski swap you'll be surprised at what you'll find.
"Its definitely not a garage sale," Whitaker said. "We have got over 2,200 items, we have three bays at the fairgrounds full of gear, there is a ton of new gear the shops bring in from last year that didn't sell," Whitaker explained.
For the best deals arrive early Saturday morning as the doors open at 9 a.m.
Purchasing tickets online in advance won't only get you in before everyone else but you'll also get a free lift ticket to Mt. Spokane any Thursday this season excluding holidays.
