Spokane Police are working with the ATF to executed a federal search warrant at a home in east Spokane in the 2100 block of E. Lacrosee near the intersection of Lacrosse and Stone.
The search warrant being executed is part of an investigation conducted by multiple federal and local agencies, including the FBI, DEA, ATF and Spokane Police Department into an explosive device detonated underneath a car in the 5800 block of N. Monroe last weekend.
Multiple agencies, including the ATF, Spokane Police, SWAT, the Explosives Disposal Unit, firefighters and EMTs are on the scene.
The Spokane Fire Department is on the scene because typically they deploy a crew to the scene when an explosive device may be involved.
One neighbor said they witnessed approximately 5 to 6 people being taken out of the residence in handcuffs.
Another neighbor said they were forced to evacuate their residence because they were told an improvised explosive device is in the home being searched by police. A robot was observed being sent into the house.
Residents in the neighborhood say squatters have been living in the residence for about nine months and there has been a long history of what they called suspicious activity at the residence.
