IDAHO FALLS, Idaho -

An Amber Alert has been issued for a five-year-old girl from Idaho Falls. Police believe the girl is being taken to Mexico by her grandparents.

Aaliyah Esqueda has been with her paternal grandparents Irene and Salvador Esqueda since September 3rd on a scheduled visit.

She was supposed to be reunited with her maternal grandparents this weekend, but a facebook message sent from a relative of the Esquedas suggested Irene and Salvador were taking Aaliyah to her father in Mexico.

Detectives believe the paternal grandparents left Idaho Falls on a bus headed for Mexico around 11 pm on the evening of September 5th.

Aaliyah is Hispanic with brown hair and eyes about 3 feet, 5 inches tall and weighing 50 pounds.

Anyone with information should contact the Idaho Falls Police Department at (208) 529-1200 or call 911.
