SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. -

Two separate fires across the Spokane region kept firefighters busy Saturday night.

Just after 4:00, a house fire broke out near Vista and Cataldo in Spokane Valley. The fire started in either the garage or the attic. Firefighters are still working to determine the cause.

Four people were inside the home when the fire started, but they all got out safely. The Red Cross is assisting with those displaced.

Another fire broke out at the West Wynn motel in west Spokane at 5:00. A dryer fire sparked in the basement, sending smoke into the upper floors of the motel. No major damage was reported.

The fire department said those staying in the motel would be able to return later that evening.
