Two high school students have been taken to Sacred Heart Medical Center in serious condition following a two-car collision at the intersection of Trent and Progress in Spokane Valley.
The driver of a minivan was eastbound on Trent was attempting to turn north onto Progress while the teens in the car were headed westbound on Trent. The van turned across the westbound lanes on Trent and the two cars collided.
Both teens, who are seniors at East Valley High School, had just left school and were headed home at the time of the collision. Both were transported to Sacred Heart in serious condition.
The driver of the minivan was not injured.
All three people involved in the crash were wearing their seatbelts. Authorities do not believe that alcohol or drugs played a factor in the collision.
