Suspicious duplex fire causes $100,000 in damage
SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. -

The Spokane Valley Fire Department is investigating a suspicious overnight duplex fire that caused more than $100,000 in damage.

The fire broke out around 3:06 Saturday morning at the 8900 block of east Broadway in Spokane Valley.

Firefighters arrived on scene to see the eastern half of the duplex engulfed in flames. They entered the duplex on the opposite side and found no one inside

This was the second fire in this duplex in 5 months. At the time of the fire there was no utility service to the duplex. The fire caused extensive damage to the building’s main floor and roof.

The cause of this fire is suspicious and is under investigation. Mako, the department’s accelerant detection canine, is investigating.

Damage to the duplex exceeds $100,000.
