When Spokane moves into snow emergency road, things get a little hairy for some drivers. With restrictions placed on where you can and can't park, it can get confusing. So, the city is hoping a pilot texting program will help.

Starting Monday, you can sign up for the text alerts and you will be notified about where you can and can't park. The service is customized. If you live in Browne's Addition, text the word "Brownes" to 509-385-5775. If you live along an arterial or residential route, text "Hills" to the same number. If you live anywhere else in the city, text "Parking" to the number above.

The city will also post that information on its Facebook and Twitter pages and on the City of Spokane website.
