COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho -

A man with a long criminal history will spend up to four years in prison after he was convicted of selling a bighorn sheep skull without the proper documents.

The Coeur d'Alene Press reports that Christopher Blair, 36, of Spokane was sentenced on Tuesday in 1st District Court in Coeur d'Alene.

Prosecutors said Blair knew he was committing a crime by selling the skull belonging to the wild sheep, one of Idaho's iconic species.

But it's not the first time Blair has gotten into hot water.

He has a prior felony burglary conviction, and misdemeanor convictions for theft, shoplifting, driving while suspended, and two DUIs.

According to Blair's sentence, he'll have to spend at least a year behind bars before he's eligible for release.
