The Kootenai County Sheriff's Department in northern Idaho has given the Idaho Meth Project $40,000 it obtained through drug-seizures.
Maj. Ben Wolfinger says it's dealer drug money being used against them.
The check was presented Friday to first lady Lori Otter on behalf of the Idaho Meth Project.
The money is about 10 percent of drug-seizure proceeds from the previous year accumulated by sheriff's department deputies.
The first lady says the $40,000 is a "huge" contribution toward the effort of preventing first-time methamphetamine use.
