Spokane homicide suspect Tony Callihan has fled our area and was spotted in Ellensburg Monday morning.
Witnesses say Callihan was driving the green 2000 Dodge stratus he stole from his alleged victim, Michelle Koenen, last Friday.
Ellensburg Police report Callihan stole two cans of gas from a greenskeeper at Central Washington University. That greenskeeper spotted Callihan in the act as he was taking the gas cans from his utility truck.
He wasn't able to stop him but was able to get his car's license plate number, which he turned over to Ellensburg police and turned up as being wanted out of Spokane in relation to the Koenen homicide investigation.
The car is registered to Koenen, who was found strangled in her home last Friday afternoon. Koenen was Callihan's girlfriend.
Spokane Major Crimes detectives have asked police from Portland to Seattle to be on the lookout for Callihan, who is considered armed and dangerous.
