Cougs make dramatic, overtime Apple Cup win

Kalafitoni Pole intercepted Keith Price on the first possession of overtime and Andrew Furney made the game-winning field goal to give Washington State a 31-28 win over Washington in the Apple Cup on Friday.
Travis Coons had a chance to end the game in regulation, but missed a 35-yard field goal as time expired, forcing the game to go to overtime.
Washington State trailed 28-10 with under 11 minutes to play in the fourth quarter before Carl Winston found the end zone from two yards out to cut the deficit to 11.
Cougar defensive lineman Steven Hoffart forced a fumble on 3rd and 2 to give WSU the ball inside the Huskies 35. The short field resulted in another Winston touchdown to make the score 28-23 UW. Jeff Tuel then found Brett Bartolone for the 2-point conversion to make it a 3-point game.
After the WSU defense forced a Huskies punt, the Cougars drove 42 yards, setting up a 45-yard Andrew Furney field goal, which tied the game at 28-28.
Washington State led 10-7 at the half before the Huskies scored three straight touchdowns to claim a 28-10 lead
