Post Falls Police have issued a $100,000 arrest warrant for Samuel Fetterhoff, 22, of Coeur d'Alene on two burglary charges.

POST FALLS, Idaho -

Post Falls Police have arrested a man suspected in a rash of burglaries, and they're now working with the Coeur d'Alene Police and Kootenai County Sheriff's Department to hunt down his accomplice.

James Porter, 22, was arrested Wednesday afternoon after responding to a call that the door had been kicked in and property was missing from a home in the 3600 block of Alfalfa Loop. A short time later a second burglary call came in from the 800 block of Stoneybrook Loop, which is located in the same part of Post Falls as the first call.

"In a way I would have liked to come in and caught them in the act," Roberta Bearinger said.

Bearinger is dog sitting for a neighbor and left for lunch Wednesday. When she came back she realized something was wrong.

"The light in the bedroom was on, master bedroom the door was open," she said, adding that the front door took the most damage. The "frame was all knocked off on one side, the locks were busted."

In both cases a black Chevy Cobalt had been seen in the neighborhood, and police spotted the suspect car in the vicinity of 16th Avenue and Jag Street. Officers initiated a traffic stop and the passenger ran from the car while the driver, James Porter, was arrested on two charges each of burglary and grand theft.

They are now searching for Porter's passenger, 22-year-old Samuel Fetterhoff of Coeur d'Alene. Police have obtained a $100,000.00 arrest warrant for Fetterhoff on two burglary charges.

Coeur d'Alene Police think the two men are playing a significant role in the spike of daytime break-ins. They arrested William Schwald, who they think is connected to Porter and Fetterhoff, at Spokane International Airport as he was about to board a plane to Boise. Melissa Roos was arrested at the Kootenai County Sheriff's office and is possibly involved with both Schwald and Porter.

"We knew Coeur d'Alene was having an issue. I put all my detectives on this once we started getting these," Captain Greg McLean of the Post Falls Police Department said.

The investigation into the burglaries has been a joint effort between police in Post Falls and Coeur d'Alene as well as the sheriff's department.
