SPOKANE, Wash. -

The KXLY Broadcast Group and Morgan Murphy Media are pleased to announce that starting Monday, September 12, 2011, Nadine Woodward and Mike Gonzalez will debut as the new anchor team of KXLY 4 News at 5:00 pm, 6:00 pm and 6:30 pm. Currently, Woodward and Gonzalez anchor KXLY 4?s Good Morning Northwest. They will be joined by Chief Meteorologist Kris Crocker each evening.

That same morning, Robyn Nance and Derek Deis will debut as the new anchor team of Good Morning Northwest, which airs weekday mornings from 5 am to 7 am on KXLY ABC 4. Nance currently anchors the 5 pm, 6 pm and 6:30 pm newscasts, while Deis is currently the KXLY 4 Sports Director. Mark Peterson will join the new team and continue to handle weather duties each morning.

Kalae Chock will continue in her current role as the anchor of KXLY 4 News at 11:00.

?We are confident these moves give KXLY the best opportunity for continued long-term success as a leader in local news,? said Vice President and General Manager Teddie Gibbon.

Woodward, one of Spokane?s most respected and favorite news personalities, is excited to return to evening newscasts. "Anchoring Good Morning Northwest and News Radio 920 has been an incredible opportunity. The fast-paced format of morning news and radio is very challenging and, I believe, has made me a better news anchor. But, I'm also excited to be moving back to evenings where I can be much more involved in the development of the newscasts. And, it's where I'm most comfortable. I'm extremely thankful that KXLY has given me this opportunity," added Woodward

Nance is equally excited to move to morning news. ?This move is going to be great for everyone involved! Mike and Nadine work so well together and Nadine is really at home in the evenings. I also feel so comfortable with the morning news. It's where I got my start and I love the idea of helping people get their day started. Most important for my family is that this new schedule will allow me precious time with them I haven't had in years" said Nance.

Gonzalez and Deis are very excited by their new roles as well. ?I really feel the timing is right for the move. I've been blessed to work with Nadine Woodward in the mornings and I'm so excited to move with her to the evening newscast because we have the opportunity to continue the KXLY legacy of great journalism, community service and commitment to excellence,? said Gonzalez.

Deis added, ?Switching from sports to news is something I've been contemplating for the last several years. And I'm thrilled for the opportunity to be able to make the switch while continuing my career at KXLY. And to be able to anchor with Robyn, a true professional and good friend, will only help ease my transition."

KXLY?s News Director, Jerry Post, thinks these anchor changes are quite simply a win-win situation. ?Nadine is among the most popular and trusted anchors in Spokane TV history. Having her and Mike anchor our evening news is what our viewers have been asking for since she joined our team last year. We?re excited about teaming up Robyn and Derek, who are two of Spokane?s most popular news and sports anchors in their own right. They?re the perfect pair to deliver news and information to our morning viewers in a fun, fresh format.?

?September is going to be a very exciting month for our viewers with the debut of our new anchor teams, the launch of one of ABC?s best Prime Time Line-ups and the return our very popular high school football show, ?Friday Night Sports Extra.? Our building is buzzing with anticipation and we are looking forward to providing the best in News, Information and Entertainment to our community.? added Gibbon.
